As the largest attraction of its type in the Gulf, the guest circulation experience is designed for ease of mobility and accessibility along with shade and covered seating at viewing nodes and overlooks. The topography and landscape design creates key habitat conditions and micro-climates to safeguard endangered species within a natural context. An array of resource-efficient design elements including cut-off lighting, indigenous xeriscaping and high-albedo materials that contribute to a reduced heat island effect support the project’s mission of conservation.

EDSA placed high priority on environmental, cultural and economic stewardship in creating a landmark educational environment that highlights nature’s diversity and provides the more than 1 million annual visitors with a comprehensive and immersive experience of the natural world.
