Overview

The vision for this unique master plan creates a sustainable, mixed-use community that serves as a prototype for future development in the region. Responding to local market demand, the “Green City” design creates exclusive opportunities for residents to live, work, play and recreate within an urban core. A 30-hectare Central Park, donated by developers, adds a legacy centerpiece and establishes a welcoming open space corridor. This ‘green lung’ ebbs and flows through a series of small blocks and narrowing streets, encouraging pedestrian activity and creating a safer environment for children and families.

Reducing the district’s energy consumption by 30-50%, the master plan improves walkability by linking high-density residential, commercial, entertainment and recreational uses to a Central Park, the Babahoyo River and neighborhood amenities.

Laying a foundation for a well-developed modern community, EDSA developed a zoning strategy and land use solutions for the urban area, residential parcel and lush Central Park with a design that blends traditional cultural elements and innovative architecture with a vibrant city center.
